Brent's easy-going nature is combined with a life-long passion for challenging himself and others in the outdoors. At an early age, Boy Scouts activities (he's an Eagle Scout) and family trips took him to over forty states, the bottom of the Grand Canyon and hundreds of other incredible outdoor destinations. As a result, the seed to explore and protect these gems grew strong. While still a student at Otterbein College, Ohio, Brent thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail. After graduation from college, Brent went west to teach at High Trails Outdoor Science School, where he aspired to instill good stewardship for the Earth in the minds of California's youth. A summer in Alaska's wilderness blended into a fall teaching environmental education in New England, and work with the Wilderness Management Unit at Glacier National Park, Montana are just a few of his outdoor accomplishments. On his quest to see it all, Brent has visited 50 states and 9 provinces and continues to relish the discovery of new places to hike, paddle, and explore.

Amy is a natural leader, teacher, and enthusiastic guide, equally at home in front of an audience as she is on the trail. A Delaware native, Amy's fondest childhood memories take place at her grandparents' home on the Chesapeake Bay where she spent weekends and summers sailing, paddling, and biking. While Amy knew the freedom of open space early on, it was while taking part in the Hurricane Island Outward Bound course that she heard the true "Call of the Wild." A second course with the Colorado Outward Bound School and her future in the outdoor industry became clear. She went on to earn a degree in Outdoor Education and Natural History from Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin. While in college Amy honed in on her winter survival skills, spent her summers leading backpacking trips in the Blue Ridge Mountains and completed a semester NOLS course in Alaska. Since graduating college, Amy has worked as a park interpreter, teacher, and naturalist for a variety of outdoor programs nationwide. Amy has spent much of her time as a professional encouraging people to connect to the natural wonders surrounding them, knowing that this connection will help people build an understanding and desire to protect and preserve the environment.

Following the 2002 Get Out More! Road Tour Brent and Amy spent time building their own trails on their farm in Ohio. They've spent time kayaking in Lake Erie, helping out the PATC in Shenandoah NP with fall trail maintenance, and taking personal trips to the Smokies and southeast Ohio. The Team has expanded their backpacking knowledge by taking a Leave No Trace course in Utah and joining in on the fun at the Appalachian Trail Long Distance Hiking Association's (ALDA) annual Gathering.
