This update applies to the map updates provided below, to the Shawnee printed map dated 1-2020 between Pt 22-23 and in the Camping Along the Trail Section, and to the FarOut app and Avenza apps, all versions. It does not apply to the West Union printed map dated 1-2020.
The BTA recently learned that a phone number for a camping location provided in both map updates below dated 8-16-19, has been changed. The camp site is located between the Moon Hollow Trailhead (Pt A) and Blue Creek Rd (Pt B)(as designated below). You must possess a free, written permit from The Edge of Appalachia Preserve. Contact the preserve at either ohio@tnc.org or 937-544-2880 x13 for your permit.
NOTE: 9-26-2026 - MCH - this does not apply to West Union anymore. Moon Hollow is in the Shawnee Section as of 2020.
