Akron Trail Alert - Closure

Pt 9: OECTT at Bolanz Rd to

Pt 10: Ira Rd at Martin Rd

Cuyahoga Valley National Park announces the closure of the Ohio Erie Canal Towpath Trail (OECTT) (which the BT follows from Pt 9 to Pt 10) for trail surface improvements from Hunt House to Beaver Marsh boardwalk. The dates of the closure are from August 17, 2026 and now extended to September 25, 2026, weather permitting.

The plan is for the trail to be open on weekends only during this time frame.

The BTA is NOT recommending an alternate route on nearby roads due to safety concerns. Please plan your hiking route accordingly.

The alert applies to all BTA mapping products.
