Pt 15 NW End of Parking Area for S End of Lake Medina to

Pt 16 NW End of Parking Area for N End of Lake Medina

The Medina County Park District has announced the closure of the entrance and the parking area at the Granger Rd entrance to Lake Medina Park (Pt 16). Along with the parking area, the picnic shelter and steps near that entrance are also closed. Heavy construction equipment will be operating in these areas as crews work to instal a paddlecraft launch on the shore of the lake.

The closure is in effect from Monday, August 31 through Sunday, September 13, 2026.

This alert applies to all BTA map products.

The following is the detour:

From Pt 15, hikers follow the lower trail at the bottom of the dam. Reach the trail junction with a trail leading NW to a bridge. Here, turn left (NW) and follow trail across the bridge over the North Branch of the Rocky River. In 0.35 mi cross a second bridge. In 190’, turn right (N) and cross strip of grass. Turn right again and follow berm of Weymouth Rd (SR 3) NE to Granger Rd. Then at Granger, turn right (SE, changing soon to E) and continue along berm to Pt 16.
Warning: both Weymouth and Granger Rds are extremely busy roads. Wear safety gear.
