Pt 14: E Washington St at Woodland Drive and W Entrance to Medina Hospital

Pt 15: NW End of Parking Area for S End of Lake Medina

Pt 16: NW End of Parking Area for N End of Lake Medina

The Medina County Park District has announced the closure of the entirety of Lake Medina Park. This affects the BT from Pt 14 to Pt 16. and includes the parking areas at all Lake Medina Park entrances. Crews will repave the lower trail and complete riprap installation around the dam.

Note: Shotwell Gardens, adjacent to the park, will remain open during this period, but access from Shotwell to Lake Medina will be blocked at the bridge near the base of the dam.

The closure is in effect from Monday, September 14 through Friday, September 25, 2026.

This alert applies to all BTA map products.

The detour for the BT is as follows:

From Pt 14, continue E. Using crosswalks at the intersection of Foote Rd and Medina Rd (SR18), cross first Foote Rd to the E, and then Medina Rd to the left (N). Follow sidewalk along Foote Rd 1 mi, passing Shotwell Gardens (a Medina County Park District Park, P, PR) at the corner of Weymouth Rd (SR3) and Foote Rd. At Weymouth Rd, turn right (slightly NE) and in 250’ cross grass to reach berm of Weymouth Rd. Turn right (slightly NE) and follow the berm to Granger Rd. Then at Granger, turn right (SE, changing soon to E) and continue along berm to Pt 16.
Warning: both Weymouth and Granger Rds are extremely busy roads. Wear safety gear.
