Development Committee Fundraising Specialist

The Fundraising Manager implements fundraising strategies to sustain and grow the organization's programs and projects. They seek out corporate sponsors, private donors, and initiate partnerships. The Fundraising Manager keeps track of donor information and fundraising progress. This role involves overseeing special events, creating marketing materials, and communicating with donors to cultivate relationships and maintain engagement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee fundraising plans, campaigns, and donor engagement strategies
• Identify and pursue opportunities for sponsorships, donations, and partnerships
• Coordinate with staff and volunteers to plan fundraising events and initiatives
• Support donor stewardship efforts, including thank-you communications and recognition
• Track fundraising metrics and report progress to the Board or relevant committees
• Collaborate with the Grants subcommittee and Development Committee to ensure a unified fundraising approach.

Impact

The Fundraising Manager plays a key role in ensuring the Buckeye Trail Association has the finiancial resources to maintain and improve the Buckeye Trail, support volunteers and volunteer programs, and connect more individuals and communities to the Buckeye Trail.

Risks/Hazards

This position primarily involves computer, phone, and event-based work. Minimal risk is anticipated, tough occasional travel or event participation may include light physical activity and outdoor exposure.

Term Limits

This is a 2 year renewable position. We deeply value your time and your willingness to support the Buckeye Trail in a volunteer capacity. We do our best to check in as needed with new volunteers to ensure you have the tools and support you need to make a difference. As a volunteer, you understand that your service is entirely voluntary. At any time and for any reason, either you or the BTA may choose to end your volunteer service. A volunteer position may also be adjusted, in conversation with the relevant BTA staff member, to better suit either the needs of the BTA or the interests of the volunteer. The best way to ensure you're well supported and providing meaningful service is to stay in regular and proactive contact with your BTA volunteer point person, who will be introduced to you during the onboarding process.

• Experience managing fundraising campaigns.
• Comfort with outreach and relationship-building.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to commit 5-10 hours per month towards fundraising efforts, and attending relevant committee meetings. Time commitments will vary based on active campaigns/events.
