We are looking to boost our Trail Town Program and start training a new Trail Town Coordinator. The Trail Town Coordinator is responsible for furthering the development of the Buckeye Trail Towns Program, which is to connect hikers and communities along Ohio’s Buckeye Trail. The Trail Town Coordinator will be the liaison between the Buckeye Trail Association and the contacts at the local community level. These duties would involve improving and enhancing the Buckeye Trail Towns Program.
Responsibilities:
The Trail Town Coordinator Trainee helps strengthen connections between the Buckeye Trail Association and Ohio communities, laying the groundwork for vibrant partnerships that promote outdoor recreation, local tourism, and community engagement along the Buckeye Trail.
Risks and HazardsThis position primarily involves computer and communication-based tasks. Minimal risk is associated, though occasional travel to Trail Towns or events may involve outdoor exposure or light physical activity.
Term Limits6-12 month training position with the expectation that the Trainee will transition into the Trail Town Coordinator position. We deeply value your time and your willingness to support the Buckeye Trail in a volunteer capacity. We do our best to check in as needed with new volunteers to ensure you have the tools and support you need to make a difference. As a volunteer, you understand that your service is entirely voluntary. At any time and for any reason, either you or the BTA may choose to end your volunteer service. A volunteer position may also be adjusted, in conversation with the relevant BTA staff member, to better suit either the needs of the BTA or the interests of the volunteer. The best way to ensure you're well supported and providing meaningful service is to stay in regular and proactive contact with your BTA volunteer point person, who will be introduced to you during the onboarding process.
