Scioto Trail Alert - Closure
Pt 25: US 23 Near Moore’s Run and Fenced Storage Area to
Pt 26: Prussia Rd (C46) Bridge over Prussia Run
The entrance to the BT at Pt 25 has been blocked to prevent hikers from using the trail through private land. The entire off-road route from Pt 25 to Pt 26 is closed. Until the BTA has arranged for access or made alternate arrangements, hikers are not permitted to enter.
However, because of the location of the closure, the alert affects Pt 24: Post 55 - Bridle Trail at Woods Hollow Rd and Pt 27: Keiser Rd (T179) at Denver Rd (C165), as well.
The alert applies to all BTA mapping products.
The following detour is provided:
Towards the end of Pt 24, Woods Hollow Rd ends at US 23. NOTE: Cross US 23 here because here you have the best visibility in both directions. Turn right (north) on US 23 and walk north a short distance towards Alma. Turn left (west) on the Blain Highway (intersection with a Marathon on the NW corner). Continue a little over a mile on the Blain Highway, then turn left (south) on Prussia Rd. Walk 1.5 miles to Pennington Rd. Here you will re-join the Buckeye Trail about 0.3 mi north of Pt 26 on its route to Pt 27.
Turn right, heading northwest.
